Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry starting in the Fall 2025 academic term.
General Purpose: Teach undergraduate courses in (bio)inorganic, (bio)physical, and general chemistry (labs and lectures).
• Teach lectures and advanced labs in (bio)inorganic, (bio)physical, or (bio)analytical.
• Teach General Chemistry lectures and labs for majors and non-majors.
• Develop lecture materials, homework assignments and exams, grade student work, and assign final grades, along with supervision of the laboratory component and laboratory TAs
• Work with the Instrumental manager, Chemistry Stockroom Manager and the Director of First Year Chemistry to coordinate chemical preparation and laboratory equipment use
Minimal Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry or equivalent; familiarity with Chemistry laboratories; experience with organic chemistry lectures and labs is particularly desirable. Previous experience in teaching university level general chemistry and organic chemistry is desirable.
Candidates must be familiar with chemical instruction required in the engineering and chemical sciences, including both lecture and laboratory instruction. Must have excellent communication skills and teaching experience.
